CRADLE OF H.O.P.E. KENYA, EAST AFRICA

The Cradle of H.O.P.E. (COH) families in Kenya have suffered greatly.  Husbands and children have been lost to HIV/AIDS.  This disease has affected a large number families and has brought death to many here in the community.  Those who survive are left to the streets and have become orphans and are destined to lives without hope.

The HIV/AIDS disease is attacking at least 700 people daily in Kenya.  The COH-Kenya project has made a difference in the lives of many who are affected and has been relentless in finding ways to reduce the spreading of this disease to the next generation.

          Regional Director

     Minister John Makongo

Those affected and infected with HIV/AIDS are young girls and widows who have lost their husbands to the disease. In many instances, both parents die because of the virus and as a result, many children are orphans in the streets.

The disease has been highly accelerated due to the following:

  • There is a high rate of sexual immorality which serves as a means of income for the orphans and their families.
  • Most people have an average income of 1 US Dollar ($1.00) per day – this is inadequate to meet the basic needs of the families and, as a result, women indulge in commercial sex to provide adequate income for their families.

COH-Kenya is committed to provide care and nurturing for the AIDS victims and families by visiting the families and providing help in anyway possible. Quality time is given to each family and every effort is made to reassure the victims that they can still live positive lives and contribute to the growth and development of their families.

COH-Kenya also meets the needs of the victims by providing a feeding program for the children and their families. Special attention is also given to education and the COH Team takes time to integrate Biblical Principles with purpose-driven projects that provide life-changing lessons.

COH our desires to support more families. However, due to financial limitations, only so much can be done at this time. It is our desire to see that more affected children and families have access to a good education and loving care, and that they experience the hope that COH brings. YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!
